Yogi government’s focus on making agriculture profitable, consolidation process completed in 11 villages across 8 districts

Lucknow Focus News Desk: The Yogi government has taken important steps towards making agriculture profitable, providing relief to farmers facing consolidation-related problems and expediting the resolution of land disputes. This will enable farmers to avail themselves of the benefits of beneficiary-oriented schemes being implemented by the government. The consolidation process has been completed in 11 villages across 8 districts of the state, while instructions have been issued to dispose of cases pending for years.
In addition, a special campaign will be conducted from October 15 to November 15 to dispose of undisputed inheritance and mutation cases.
On the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Consolidation Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod has taken the necessary steps to expedite long-pending consolidation cases. In this regard, 6 villages in 4 districts have been excluded from the consolidation process under Section 6(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Consolidation of Holdings Act. These include Ajgawan, Pidna and Sadabad in Unnao, and Magrasa village in Bareilly.
The consolidation process had been underway in these villages for the past 12 years. In addition, the consolidation process had been pending for 7 years in Baral village of Bulandshahr and for two years in Kajipur (Girwan) village of Banda.
Progress in the process in these villages had been hindered by factors such as work being undertaken under the village development plan, the impact of river erosion, the consolidation-eligible area being less than 40 percent, inclusion in an industrial development area, and factionalism and group-based disputes. As the work could not progress despite special efforts, a decision was taken to exclude these villages from the consolidation process.
The long-pending cases have been resolved, and the consolidation process has been completed in 11 villages across 8 districts. These include Baisar village in Maharajganj, where consolidation had been underway for 18 years. The process had been pending for 12 years in Bhikampur village of Bulandshahr and Sikri Salis village of Chitrakoot. Consolidation has been completed in all 3 villages.
In addition, the consolidation process, which had been underway for two years in Auradih village of Basti and Devalha village of Pratapgarh, has also been completed. The process in these villages was concluded under Section 52(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Consolidation of Holdings Act.
Consolidation Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod has directed all Settlement Officers, Consolidation, to conduct a special campaign from October 15 to November 15, 2026, to dispose of undisputed inheritance and mutation cases. During the campaign, 100 percent disposal of such cases under the relevant provisions must be ensured.
Officials will be required to provide a certificate to the Directorate confirming that no undisputed inheritance or mutation case exceeding the prescribed time limit is pending in the district. Instructions have also been issued to identify the concerned Consolidation Officer and Consolidator and submit a report in cases of undisputed inheritance that remain pending beyond the prescribed time limit even after the campaign period.
Instructions have also been issued to dispose of cases pending for more than three years in consolidation courts on a priority basis. All Deputy Directors of Consolidation, Settlement Officers, Consolidation, and Consolidation Officers have been directed to expedite this work. In the event of negligence, the responsibility of the concerned officer will be fixed and action will be proposed in accordance with the rules.
