Yogi govt building strong foundations, nurturing children’s talent
Lucknow Focus News Desk: While the entire world is striving to enhance its education systems, the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh is laying a strong foundation for a bright future through the NIPUN Bharat Mission. This initiative is refining children’s potential by equipping them with literacy and numeracy skills at the primary education level, enabling them to become self-reliant, empowered, and successful in all walks of life.
Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visionary leadership, the goal is to achieve grade-level proficiency in reading, writing, and arithmetic for children from Balvatika to Class 2 by 2026–27. This initiative aims to reinforce foundational learning and transform students into active, aware, and responsible citizens. It ensures not just academic learning, but holistic development as well.
The government has made sure that no effort is spared in the provision of educational resources. High-quality materials such as Sandarshika, print-rich content, books, math kits, library books, and ‘Taalika’ have been supplied to all primary schools to facilitate activity-based and engaging learning experiences for children.
Teachers have been equipped with a structured ‘Teacher Diary’ under the mission, which includes detailed lesson plans and assessment strategies. This has resulted in steady improvement in students’ literacy and numeracy capabilities.
The impact of these efforts goes beyond internal statistics. Independent assessments like the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER–2024) also affirm this progress. The report states that government schools in Uttar Pradesh achieved their highest learning levels in two decades in 2024.
From 2022 to 2024, there was more than a 10% increase in basic reading skills among Class 3 students. The number of children unable to recognize letters or numbers has significantly declined, highlighting the mission’s well-planned and outcome-oriented strategy.
